About

Hi! My name is Anne del Rosario and I'm your sewing teacher at Sew Easy For Kids. I've been married for 20 years and have 3 boys and a lovable labrador. We live in Parañaque City, Philippines. I am a Christian and follower of Jesus Christ, and my family serves in our local church.

I finished my bachelor's degree from the U.P. College of Fine Arts in Diliman and worked as a writer and art director in an advertising agency. A few years later, my husband and I put up our own design company. I have been working as a graphic designer for more than 20 years now.

Doing crafts and making things with my hands have always been my favorite things to do as a kid. It was my Mom who taught me how to sew by hand and she showed me different stitches for fixing a hem or a tear, and darning holes in my shirts. I realized that kids today do not know how to sew, and it's sad to know that hardly anyone is teaching this valuable skill anymore. I guess mothers now are too busy or don't have the patience to teach it, and the schools have turned to more computer oriented subjects. That's why I decided to study more about sewing with the use of a sewing machine. I learned how to make my own clothes and handmade crafts and accessories to give away as gifts to friends.

My love for sewing has grown into a desire to share and teach this lifeskill to others, especially kids. I started with teaching basic hand sewing and decided to take it further into sewing things that you can wear, but this time with the use of a sewing machine. After a lot of research and practice, I picked everything up and prepared to teach my first students.... my boys! Soon enough, I was able to find a nice space for a sewing studio and set the business up and running. On April 4, 2013, I taught my first ever sewing class and we had a blast!

I hope you are as excited as I am to get into sewing. Join me in this journey of bringing back this "old but new" lifeskill and teaching it to our kids. YOU, too, can learn how to sew even if you haven't touched a sewing machine in your life, or if you're an old-timer and just want to start again. I don't care how old you are, let's just do it!

Let's get sewing!
